Summary: Straightforward remake of a classic.
James Caviezel is popular with the girls, supposedly, so he was picked for this role where he plays the dashing hero go searches for vengeance against his enemies. The movie plays well as an adventure flick, with decent effects and stuff, but it doesn't have a lot of soul, you never find yourself really caring about the characters. And having Luiz Guzman as the buddy is just a bit too much for me. I guess it's to attract the hispanic demo, but it was really too much of a stretch for me, didn't seem natural at all.
