Summary: Nice ensemble performance | |
A large cast heads up this straightforward caper where Clooney gathers a gang of thieves to rob a highly secure vault in one of Las Vegas's casinos. Clooney is charming as ever, and Brad Pitt is outstanding in his role-- he is really mastering subtlety. Matt Damon does a great job as the young kid. Even Carl Reiner is working hard after all these years.
Other roles are not so hot. Garcia plays a lame bad guy; Roberts plays a lame ex-wife; and the other parts of the supporting cast do only a so-so job. The movie itself works great as an ensemble event, which Soderbergh did (even better) with Traffic. |
