A Low Down Dirty Shame

This is a humorous black comedy that is also part action flick.  An out
of work cop is failing to support himself as a private detective even though
he's an expert detective, marksman, and martial artist.  So there's lots
of exciting gunplay and a little bit of martial arts, and lots of jokes,
some of them racial (as is typical of black comedies).  Overall, pretty
fun, but nothing memorable.

Michael Douglas plays a VP who gets passed up for a promotion in favor of
an ex-girlfriend buffy type that then uses her power to take advantage
of him sexually.  Since he's a married man now, this leads to problems,
a power struggle, a sexual harrasment lawsuit, and the usual backstabbing
in a business environment.

Wesley Snipes stars in this action/adventure movie about a cop who is
investigating these people who hijacked a plane and killed his partner.
The main thrust of the movie is the parachuting and skydiving stunts, but
Snipes is, always, fun to watch.

The Professional

This is a gritty drama about an assassin who takes in a young girl after
her parents are brutally murdered one day.  He teaches her how to be
an assassin after she lives with him for a while and begs to learn, meanwhile
softening his heart.

Junior

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito star in this funny movie about a mad
scientist who manages to impregnant himself.  It's a really stupid plot but
the actors make the script work.

Street Fighter

Packed with in-jokes and wacky fight scenes, this movie starts out like
a zany action/adventure flick and slowly but surely evolves into the
Street Fighter video game.  It's great fun to watch as all the characters
evolve into the different players in the game.  Van Damme is entertaining
as always, with his charm, wit, and martial arts.

The Santa Clause

This was an entertaining feel-good movie about a daddy who is forced to
turn into Santa Claus and feed his son's fantasies.  Meanwhile the real
world punishes him and claims he's going insane.

I.Q.

This is another fun movie about a mechanic who falls in love with a genius
young niece of Albert Einstein.  Walter Matthau plays Einstein, and Tim
Robbins plays the mechanic.  Robbins, as always, is great fun.
