Jerky Boys B 2/3 8:30pm Secaucus This movie catered towards high-school teens that like to cuss and have no respect for anyone. At the door to the movie, they were checking ID's, as it was rated R and hundreds of underage kids were just dying to get in. The movie is about a couple of losers from Queens who have nothing better to do with their lives than to make crank phone calls. The same thing they were doing when they were little kids, 20 years ago. They get into some trouble when they make a call on a mob boss. Overall, the movie is pretty fun in places, but not great. Legends of the Fall C+ 2/12 2:00pm Starkville, Mississippi This movie tries to be an epic and you get the feeling it's based on some "literary" novel because of the length and how it covers so many years. But it just goes on and on and while it is nice to watch with really great scenery, the storyline just doesn't make one stand up and take notice. I didn't really care for any of the characters, they were all kinda miserable. The Quick and the Dead A- 2/13 7:30pm Starkville, Mississippi Sharon Stone gives a surprisingly good performance as a woman out for revenge in a tale of the wild west. The story is about a man who owns a small town and holds a quick-draw dueling contest to see who has the fastest gun in town. Several amusing character actors have bit parts in the movie, making it amusing to watch. Plus, the direction is top-notch; it keeps everything moving and exciting, and eerily unreal in places. It's the same director as "Army of Darkness". The Brady Bunch Movie B+ 2/24 9:40pm Secaucus They took the Brady Bunch family and transplanted them firmly into the 90's. The family thinks they're living in the 70's, and remains totally oblivious to the world around them. The live with totally saccharine sweetness, to the point where the humor is biting and sarcastic. The movie doesn't take itself seriously, at all, which is a good thing, and thus a good time can be had. Mr. Payback D 2/25 7:30pm Chelsea The world's first interactive movie, as it is billed, isn't really very interactive after all. At various points in the movie you make choices for the lead character by pressing buttons. However, you either vote for what the majority in the audience wants, or you lose. In my case, there was a gang that was half the audience, and they would team up and force all of the selections in their favor. So it's not really interactive. At the end, the movie gives a score and compares the audience to other theaters where the movie is playing, which I felt was extremely hokey and worthless. Interactive movies will make more sense for home video, where the viewers actually *do* get to choose what happens, but for a large viewing audience, it's a joke. Also, the "movie" is a mere 25 minutes long. You have to watch it several times to see the different plots.
