Gunmen B+ 2/5 4pm Seacaucus Christopher Lambert and Dennis Leary star in this action/adventure film about bad guys, greed, violence, guns, and a boat loaded with 400 million dollars that everyone is trying to get their hands on. Leary continues to play a very amusing bad guy, and Lambert plays some sort of hero with extremely questionable morals. The good guy of the film is the bounty hunter who brings Lambert in and drags him around, trying to get information out of him. It's a lot of fun if you're into violent/carnage/guns flicks. Romeo Is Bleeding B- 2/13 8pm Greenwich Village This is a chaotic tale about a cop gone bad, corrupted to sell knowledge to the mob. He gets too deeply involved after a while and tries to get out, but of course, it's just not that easy. Meanwhile, the bad guy is done by a wild performance of some 40-ish woman, playing a master mob queen, expert in escape and seduction (but she isn't all that pretty, go figure...). It's a sad story that goes on and on, getting more messed up an unbelievable as it goes. It really needed a better soundtrack. On Deadly Ground B- 2/18 9pm Times Square Possibly the worst Steven Seagal movie. Oh, it has its good parts, from the shaved naked eskimo in his dream, to all the explosions, but basically this was a sub-par performance for Seagal. And the liberal enviromental whining speech near the end, well, that just blew it entirely. Don't mix entertainment with heavy political ranting! Ace Ventura: Pet Detective A- 2/26 Seacaucus This movie was a lot of fun! Jim Carrey is insane, wild, and more zany than any person ought to be. Downright stupid at times, Carrey just manages to pull this one off. And of course, the sight and sounds gags make everything worthwhile. Buy popcorn for this one!
