Dumb and Dumber A- 1/9 10pm Secaucus A pleasant and heart-touching story of two idiots who travel across the country to find a woman who "accidentally" left a suitcase at an airport. One of them is totally smitten with her. Through out the movie, neither ever gets a clue, which is reminiscent of Jerry Lewis; and the actors do a good job of entertaining the audience, which was a surprise. Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight D 1/13 8:15pm Secaucus It's like one of the TV shows made a little more gory, and longer in duration. But the plot just doesn't hold up, you don't develop a feel for any of the characters, and you leave the theater thinking it was all a big waste of time. The movie tries to take itself more seriously than it should, too. Murder in the First C+ 1/17 8:15pm Secaucus Unless you like courtroom drama, you're better off passing on this flick. This is a story about the young lawyer (played by Christian Slater) who uncovers the abuse of prisoners at Alcatraz. It's not inspiring, uplifting, nor does it make you feel good. What a deal for $7.50! Bad Company B- 1/20 8:30pm Secaucus This is a movie about dirty double-crossing double-agents. Nobody trusts anyone else and they all cheat on each other behind their backs. Lots of action and gunfights, some martial arts (but not much), and some cool sets from lifestyles of the rich and famous. In the end, everyone gets what they deserve. Highlander 3 C 1/27 10:30pm Secaucus There can be only one, and this movies proves the point. While continuing the story of Highlander, this shows us McCloud eight years later, where he's found himself still in the game. He though he had the prize, but it turns out he didn't, there were still a few more immortals leftover. Actually, this movie justifies the TV show somewhat. Highlander 2 was more entertaining, and took place in the future; this is more in the present. The problem here is that the energy and mysticism of the original series is lost; and also, we don't have Sean Connery's presence anymore, either. So all that's left is some sword-fighting scenes and special effects of the victors absorbing the energies and blowing up everything around.
