Summary: Long, drawn out period piece. | |
This movie was in desperate need of an editor; the storyline certainly did not justify the two hours and forty minutes of run time. It was a period piece set in 1961 with flashbacks (I hate flashbacks!) as Damon's character grows up and rises through the ranks of the OSS and CIA. Throughout it all he seems very flat and emotionless. Angelina Jolie's character makes no sense at all. There were tons of other characters and it was hard to keep track of them all, as many of them looked like they might be key players but would later turn out not to be. It was neat seeing the world portrayed in the 40's and 60's. |
