Summary: More of a Joker feature.
The was really good but I liked Batman Begins more. This feature really got bogged down into the whole good versus evil philosphical rambling and whether a good person could ever kill, even when they should. Ridiculous. The movie was also a feature about the Joker, not Batman, and Ledger played an excellent Joker. He didn't have Nicholson's style and flair, but he certainly did convey the crazy. The movie had an annoying buzzing sound whenever Joker was featured, to emphasize the craziness, and that got old in a hurry as well. Eric Roberts played gangster Maroni very well, nice and subtle. It was also bothersome to see the very-tired "I'm going to expose your secret identity" schtick tacked on to a movie that already had the very-tired "good people can't kill" schtick. If you can get around that, everything else is excellent! Wonderful music, action, special effects, stunts. Great stuff.
