Summary: Not as good as the original.
For a sequel, it's a bit disappointing. The film is rather short, the plotline is contrived, and the whole Galactus thing was absurd. Any mass of that size near Earth would immediately destroy the planet; it can't just pull away at the last minute and wow everything's all better. As for the return of Dr. Doom, I thought that was rather weak and pointless. On the plus side, the effects were good, and some of the bantering around the team was fun. Michael Chiklis certainly needs to get a better gig though, he's better than this.

Summary: Good action movie, overall
This is a good but not great movie; it does a good job of satirizing the modern media (the huge media firestorm over Reed Richard and Sue Storm's wedding), the Silver Surfer is great, and there's lots of good interplay between the 4some. At 90 minutes, it doesn't go on forever like some action movies do. Plus, they even manage to add in the jet. However, it just doesn't quite have the magic needed to be an A+ movie. Plus, the depersonalization of Galactus kind of rubs some people the wrong way. Still, it's an enjoyable movie, even if you haven't seen the first one.
