Summary: Flashy, Catchy, Snazzy and all that jazz
I'm pleased to see that musicals are trying to make a revival. Chicago had some great costuming and amazing choreography, and some very laugh out loud moments. The first 10 minutes or so kind of drag on, but by the time they hit the Jail House Tango number, I was hooked. I'd recommend this to anyone that likes musicals or irreverent films. It's somewhat zany ride. See it once..just for the heck of it.

Summary: Good musical, great people, but not quite the sum of its parts
This movie has excellent people in it (Renee Zellweger, Catherine Zeta-Jones, even Lucy Liu in a bit part), and this is the first movie I've seen Richard Gere in in a while where he didn't annoy me, and the singing and acting were all great, but for me it wasn't quite as good as it possibly could have been. Probably I'm comparing it to Moulin Rouge (which I liked better), but I think part of it is that the musical parts seemed more like a series of weird dream sequences than an integral part of the movie (like it was in Moulin Rouge). Still, it's worth seeing on the big screen at least once.
