Summary: Great ensemble piece.
This is probably one of the best comedic ensemble pieces since "The Cannonball Run", which obviously was much better. Still, these days you take what you can get. There's a wonderful cast filled with A and B actors, all of which get stuck in very funny scenes, as they race across Arizona to a small bus depot in New Mexico. I liked it a lot, I just wish that someone could do the same thing and kick it up a notch, with a stronger cast... |

Summary: Rent It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World again instead
As a lot of ensemble pieces go, it has some great parts and some annoying/sucky parts. However the great parts seem too short and the sucky parts seem too long. Plus once you see the bits they cut out on the dvd extras, it makes you wonder what they were thinking-- one of the scenes they cut was the conclusion to the bus full of Lucys sub-plot, which would have gotten a good laugh and concluded that bit sensibly had they left it in, but as is you just end up wondering what happened to that bit. Good concept overall, but the execution of it just leaves something to be desired. I found the ending fairly annoying as well; it doesn't help any that that _All-Star_ song has been *way* over-used. |
