Summary: All-star cast fails to deliver the goods. | |
Ice-T and Kurt Russell give fine performances, but Costner mumbles his way through the script in a miserable fashion. Slater doesn't get enough airtime to really count. Cox's character is completely crazy and doesn't make any sense whatsoever; basically, the script/story is bad that it gets in the way of everything else.
The upcoming writers strike has moviemakers scrambling, and the result is some really shoddy scripts. This is why I haven't seen many movies lately-- most movies just don't seem to be worth watching! This one does have a few nice gunfights, which makes worth watching the next time it comes on TBS's "Movies for Guys who like Movies". This movie could have been a lot better if only the script had made some kind of sense. But the story leaves several plot lines dangling, and some of these are almost interesting... like how the characters may or may not be actually related to Elvis, what motivates them, etc. Oh well. |
