Summary: Another exorcist movie. | |
Basically this is yet another exorcist flick, with people being possessed and Catholic tough guy priests trying to play hero by praying to God really, really hard!
On the plus side this movie has Winona Ryder (WINONAAAAAUGH!) who plays a "secular special assistant" to the priests. She has memories of her own exorcism and she tends to see things. Ben Chaplin plays the guy who's about to be possessed, and he's seeing things too. Overall it's almost interesting, but the plot leaves a lot to be desired, and the ending is a real downer as well. But the cinematography is really good in places... and overly grainy and washed out in others. There are many great shots of Manhattan though that are absolutely wonderful. The flyby of the George Washington Bridge makes it look really artistic. So, obviously there's a lot of talent in this movie, but most of it goes wasted on a stupid story... |
