Summary: Visually stunning historical 3D view of NYC.
This was an absolutely stunning IMAX 3D movie. I usually don't see the 3D effects very well but the technology that they used really made quite a difference. The headsets, however, are kinda heavy and you really feel the weight after 45 minutes. This movie is about a boy from Russia who comes to NYC to seek his roots. An ancestor of his came to NYC in the early 1900's and made a living making stereograms. The movie then uses this to take the liberty of showing the reproduced stereograms from 75+ years ago, compared against the New York of today. The before and after effect is magnificent, and the framework of the heart-touching story of a boy searching for his family works well, too.
