Summary: Ah, the La Brea tar pits exploding. How nice.
Here we go, yet another disaster film, this time, we have a volcano erupting in Los Angeles. At first, the emergency response teams can't believe what is happening and have no idea to respond to the splashing lava, but then the director yells "Someone get me a scientist!" and it's the geologist of the day to the rescue. The special effects are really good most of the time, but the endless acts of bravery and human sacrifice border on the absurd (cf. Schindler's list). Still, it's not every day you get to see lava burn through everything except concrete.
