Summary: Momma's lil' Hercules! Hercules! Hercules!
Kevin Sorbo stars in the role of Kull, in a movie that has a great similarity to "Conan the Barbarian". Of course, both are based on novels by Robert E. Howard, but it is more than that. Both movies have the same level of action, the same style, and level of special effects. Personally, I think it would have been better with more T&A, but what are ya gonna do. Sorbo, of course, is well-practiced for the role, thanks to his Hercules TV series. A great movie if you're in the mood for medieval fantasy. |

Summary: Good cheesy fun
It's hard to have high expectations of any film called "Kull the Conqueror", particularly when it stars beefcake Kevin Sorbo, hotty Tia Carrere, and the bad guy from Karate Kid 3. So I went in expecting cheese, and that's what I got in spades. Goofy action, goofy dialog, goofy effects, and Harvey Firestein. They couldn't decide if they wanted an orchestral classical soundtrack or a heavy metal soundtrack, so they did both. "Why not?" seems to have been the answer to most if not all of the decisions in this movie. It's a good fun film, even if you aren't drunk. |
