Summary: Scarily realistic tale about how Washington may work.
This is a farce about a White House "fix it" man who is tasked with saving an election when a story leaks out that the president may have had sex with an underaged girl. In order to direct public attention away from that story, he develops an even more dramatic story, by hiring a Hollywood producer to create a minor war with Albania. The spooky part of the movie is that one wonders just how much of it could happen in real life. Starring Robert DeNiro and Dustin Hoffman, as well as an all-star supporting cast, there is a lot of entertainment to be had just from the actors.

Summary: The most cynical movie ever made
An incredibly cynical look at Washington politics, with strong but subdued performances from Hoffman, De Niro, and Heche. Absolutely worth seeing at least once.

Summary: Scary to think about it.
That the government may have the power to totally manipulate the American public. Of course the whole faked war seemed a little beyond in this day when it is likely people would actually try to get to wherever the supposed war was to see it first-hand. Not totally unbeilevable but pushing it. I did like seeing Dustin Hoffman as ruthless as he was.
