Mindplayers Pat Cadigan 1987 Bantam Spectra C This cyberpunk novel of the future is a bit slow in most places and just kind of drifts from one scene to another, without any real plot. Most of the scenes feel like dreams; I guess the author didn't know enough about real technology to even begin to try to make the stories realistic. So, it's all a bunch of dreams, wandering around aimlessly. It reminded me of the movie eXistenZ, which was similarly hokey. In the afterword of the book, it is revealed this is really four short stories patched together with a little glue; this explains the absence of plot but does not excuse it.
